East Tennessee Engagement Shoot in the Woods
There are few things dreamier than having your engagement session during golden hour in the woods. Ashley and James decided that they wanted their engagement photos to be in a woodsy area and I immediately knew where I wanted to take them. Seven Islands State Birding Park is one of the most magical places in East Tennessee, and near Knoxville! And that’s saying a lot since we have the Great Smoky Mountains in our backyard.
Every time I go to Seven Islands State Birding Park, I see more wildlife than I do at any other park. Deer and bunnies galore, not to mention all the birds! It always brings a smile to my face. When I asked Ashley what she thought about the location she was just as excited as I was!
We planned for the evening, golden hour of course, right when the sun was peering through the trees. I was obsessed with what we captured.
Ashley decided to go barefoot for the majority of the session and it was a perfect representation of who she is as a person, down to earth and connected. I always encourage my clients to be who they are. These are YOUR photos, just be yourself.
Guiding James and Ashley through their session was a lot of fun and made for ‘romance movie’ quality photos. I am so excited to be shooting their wedding in less than two weeks! Now, please enjoy the results of this shoot below!
And remember, if you are in Knoxville or the surrounding area, are a little adventurous, and enjoy hiking, walking, or nature, contact me to book your photoshoot! I love focusing on the entire experience. I will take the classic photos that your family wants, but the real meat of the session is centered around movement, fun, and getting to a place that feels like you! I want to capture everything from the details to the wide view of the moment. Creating a visual story is my favorite part of being a photographer.
Disclaimer: Since I’ve shared my ‘secret’ location, please be sure to take care of it, should you decide to visit! Remember, take out what you bring in and leave no trace. :)
